I'm proud to announce that Birth Model has officially graduated from the Techstars AI Health Baltimore accelerator program. The past 13 weeks have been transformative for our company, and I want to share some reflections on this journey.
Why Techstars AI Health?
When we applied to Techstars, we were already generating revenue with paying customers. We weren't looking for validation—we knew our technology worked. What we needed was help scaling: refining our go-to-market strategy, expanding our network of health system partners, and preparing for our seed round.
Techstars AI Health Baltimore, with its focus on healthcare innovation and its partnership with CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, was the perfect fit.
What We Accomplished
- Refined our pitch through hundreds of mentor meetings with healthcare executives, investors, and fellow founders
- Expanded our hospital pipeline from a handful of prospects to over 190 health systems in active conversations
- Strengthened our team by formalizing key roles and establishing our advisory board
- Advanced our technical platform with new features including Resident and Nursing Handoff automation
- Built lasting relationships with fellow cohort companies tackling healthcare's biggest challenges
Demo Day Highlights
Presenting at Demo Day to an audience of investors, health system executives, and industry leaders was an incredible experience. The response to our vision—making every L&D unit run like a well-coordinated emergency room—resonated deeply.
"Birth Model represents exactly the kind of AI application healthcare needs: clinically validated, seamlessly integrated, and demonstrably impactful on both outcomes and operations."
— Demo Day Attendee
What's Next
Graduation is just the beginning. We're now focused on:
- Closing our seed round to fuel expansion
- Onboarding new health system partners
- Continuing to enhance our platform based on clinician feedback
- Building out our team to support rapid growth
Thank you to the entire Techstars team, our mentors, our cohort-mates, and everyone who believed in our mission to make childbirth safer and more predictable. The best is yet to come.
